Mushroom Picking at Corrib Lodge

If you are at Corrib Lodge between June and September, enjoy a relaxing and rewarding foraging experience in the heart of pine and spruce forests while searching for porcini, chanterelles, honey mushrooms, and other delights. The Irish woods are abundant with porcini mushrooms, and fortunately, locals do not have a culture of foraging them for consumption, so these exquisite gifts from nature are plentiful and almost everywhere, provided you're there on the right days.

Whether you prefer to go on your own or be guided by one of our expert guides, you'll encounter a variety of wild mushrooms and learn about their unique characteristics, understanding which are edible and which are not.

You can request the lodge (for an additional cost) to cook your mushrooms and preserve them in jars with oil. You can then take your jars home in your checked luggage, as we will carefully package them in bubble wrap before handing them over to you.
