We are fortunate to have the Western Way Trail and the Derroura Forest just a short distance from home. The former is a long perimeter trail around the northern part of the lake, and to get there, you just need to leave your car at the Hill of Dune (5 minutes from the lodge) and then walk to the trail that will take you to the Maam mountains, offering wonderful views of lakes, woods, and mountains.

The Derroura Mountain Bike Trail Network extends over 16 km and is located at the gateway to Connemara. The trails here will offer you vast views to the north in the Maam Valley and west towards the Twelve Pins. Derroura provides an incredible mountain biking route through some of the most spectacular scenery in Connemara. You will encounter long climbs and thrilling descents with fantastic views overlooking the entire Lough Corrib from the midpoint of the trails.
